This USED to be my go-to place to do laundry, but they've made things SO EXPENSIVE to do laundry. $6.50+ for a double load with hot water; $4.75 for single load w/hot water. All depends on what options you choose. Lightly spiked vs moderate vs heavy. Cold, warm or hot water. Special handling ( permanent press, gentle cycle, etc) all affects cost. I notice that my one washer didn't do a great spin on the clothes, making them still quite wet/water saturated - which leads to longer drying time. A way to make you spend more money. What really irked me, was the shortened drying time. What used to be a 8 minute dryer run for 25 cents went down to 6 minutes a few years back. Now it's down to a measley 4 minutes dryer time for .25 cents!! I spent close to $12-14 just to do a couple of loads of laundry. I think I'll check out some other laundromats in town....
Ate all our money! $24 in quarters & $25 in laundry detergent. They turned off I understand that the last wash is at 9:30 I tried starting it at nine and all the machines turned off so how can they be turned off
Pretty much what I would expect from a decent laundromat. Not impeccably clean, but not filthy, either. The reason for only 3 stars is because there are signs that say "WiFi" and yet there is no wifi available. Would have been nice to be able to go online while my laundry was going. If they're not going to provide WiFi, then they should remove the signs on the doors.
A little pricey but where isn't amiright... The maintenance number works if you have a problem and they come quickly. The only gripe I have is they don't have WiFi when WiFi is on both doors or there is no WiFi signage for the name and password. Either way working WiFi would be nice. Update. They fixed the WiFi!!! Thank you so much. FIVE STAR SERVICE
Very clean, plenty of machines and a few with credit card payment
I have been coming here the last few years now. I liked that it was big/open, had a lot of machines and that most seemed to be new and work well. My experience has been mixed. The first year I started coming here I had quite a few machines eat my money and even though I filled out the return compensation complaint slip, I never once received the money the machines ate. That irritated me a bit, if you are an honest establishment you are going to pay people back whose money was eaten at no fault of their own, not blame them and keep the money. That just isn’t cool. Next thing.. I have alot of fuzzy soft material clothing and pajamas, I washed and dried just as I always have at every other laundromat I have ever been to. With no prior warning or understanding, the dryers single-handedly destroyed all of them. A good amount of those clothes ended up being thrown out because the fabric was rough, burnt and no longer soft but itchy due to the roughness and burnt areas. That sucked. But I learned. Dry most everything on medium heat, fuzzy super soft on low or no heat. Takes longer and costs more. Seems like the heat on the dryers should be reduced instead or someone to figure out why they run like that, I’ve been to a lot of laundromats over the years and never experienced this before so it’s definitely abnormal. If not going to fix the machines, their should at the very least be a sign stating the dryers run hotter than normal and to dry soft/fuzzy clothing on medium-low heat. Even that messes up the clothing so now I only dry on low heat or no heat because I’m terrified to ruin what delicate clothing I have left. When using medium heat to dry delicates and kids clothes, they shrink pretty quickly even so due to how hot the dryers run. It’s pretty standard knowledge to leave a quarter of space open in the washes to ensure a thorough and proper wash; but even being consistent with that for a long time now, I still have washes (primarily the big ones) that have clothes that are still dry and still smell dirty. Pet peeve and grosses me out. I’m already leaving ample room and still paying top dollar, so it annoys me some clothes still dirty and dry. I’ve also not experienced this at my previous go-to laundromats. The little white washers I’ve had issues with not washing the clothes thoroughly quite often, so I stopped using them for the most part. My last complaint is the machines shutting off well before closing. 1-2 hours before closing all dryers start to shut off, leaving the whole place with only a few dryers to use. Hopefully not many people are there if you run into this problem! I appreciate Horrigans for being local, easy-access, open late, and having pretty new washers and dryers, they are also conveniently located to a lot of stores and a few food places. I learned to deal with the other issues but I really am not a fan of the big washes having plenty of room left and still leaving partially dry clothes that still smell a bit dirty. In my honest opinion, if Horrigans fixed the washers that are worn down and not functioning at full capacity, lowered the heat on the dryers to keep from ruining clothes, and didn’t shut off machines too early, it would be a much better experience. I hope this helps! Thank you
Not a good experience at the laundromat today! Usually no problems. The washers always stink! Does anyone clean the inside of the washers? Can the rubber be removed to clean under it? The dryer was too hot today, where I couldn't even touch the clothes, when taking them out. And, they were extremely wrinkled, most of them, where they never were before! And, a quarter used to be worth 6 minutes , now 4, with no notice, regarding the dryers. I came home to Athol, and still couldn't touch parts of my jeans, still hot! Facing the building, the dryers in the back right, one of the bottom ones, straight ahead from the bench in front. Regarding the cleaning, are you the one that cleans, or do you supervise, because when you open the washers, they smell. I've just walked into the building, and smelled a musty smell. I have no reason to lie. Thank you. One more thing, I don't think enough water goes into those white washers across from the silver ones to the right, and I use cold water. I won't be going back. Eight of my shirts are ruined! Now, I have to buy more shirts.
Kept clean, most machines work well and if they don't, the owners are timely on fixing them and sending you your lost money. One day a worker was in while we lost some money and he fixed the machine and got the quarters immediately. Can't ask for better customer service!
Lots of machines in working order. Was busy today. Could be cleaner. There is seating and working change machine. Could be improved if it were switched from coin op to a debit type of machine. Putting $9.50 at one quarter at a time is ponderous. Otherwise a pretty good place to wash.
Haven't been here in awhile but it was very clean, washer and dryer worked well. Did need to buy dryer sheets and I would've liked more options.
