Tropix Laundromat - Camp Springs

While thrift shopping in a local shopping center, I discovered a laundromat that caught my attention due to their advertised premium wash-and-fold services. I decided to give them a try, dropping off one large contractor’s bag of laundry. I was impressed with the cleanliness, the affordability, and the convenience, so I returned three more times. Unfortunately, during my third visit, I experienced a serious issue. Upon picking up my clothing, I immediately noticed that items were missing. I dropped off approximately 34 pounds of laundry, but only received back 31 pounds. When I raised this concern, I spent 30–45 minutes going back and forth with two Latina women—one of whom was rude, dismissive, and rolled her eyes throughout our exchange. They did not make any effort to look for my missing items and instead kept referencing clothing of different colors and descriptions than what I reported missing. Eventually, a Spanish-speaking male got on the phone. He told me they would pull camera footage the next day, but that I would not be allowed to view it. I asked what the point of reviewing footage was if I couldn’t see it or if it didn’t record individual clothing items. He then claimed they weighed the returned clothing—confirming it was less than what I dropped off. I suggested we weigh it again on the spot, which proved my point. When I pressed for his name and contact information as the supposed manager, he refused and hung up. A woman who seemed more empathetic tried to help me communicate via her phone, but the same man messaged her in Spanish not to give me any further information. I was forced to call the police to make a report and was finally handed a generic email for complaints. All I wanted was honesty—an acknowledgment that a mistake may have happened, and a fair attempt to make it right. Instead, I was met with lies, evasion, and disrespect. This is not about $45. It’s about principle, accountability, and how customers are treated when something goes wrong. I will be filing a complaint with the BBB and considering legal small claims action, not out of spite, but because no one should be dismissed or deceived when trying to resolve a service failure.

So 4/4/25 so today I lost 37.00 because of a language problem. This lady couldn’t understand me and I couldn’t understand her. I showed her a card That didn’t work. And then I showed her the balance of $20 on the card on the website. She acted like there was nothing she could do for me so I bought another card I added $20 on a new car started washing my clothes so it made it $17 in Blink cents . So that’s it for the lady to transfer my $20 over to the new card I gave her my new card and the old card cause she only had one card on So she went back, call somebody and then when she came back all my cards blank zero So I registered a new card that I bought and put the $20 on so I went to look up my account and the only thing they have was a $10 I just put for another card so I can start drying my clothes. Now they telling me that she didn’t give me my new card back that I still have it somewhere on me that’s a lie. I haven’t been anywhere so now I just lost $37.

The staff is always courteous and helpful, the location is always kept clean and well maintained! 5 thumbs up to the staff and the ownership!

Response to owner: I arrived slightly after nine but before 9:10. Not well after nine. I did not see where it was posted of washing stopping at 9. I was only there to wash and not dry which I said. Since this is your policy and you check cameras check to see that your attendant did not reference any such policy or posting in your establishment. She shrugged her shoulders and acted as if she didn’t understand me. Furthermore you are in an African American community and based on previous post you and your establishment have an issue with how you treat certain patrons. It’s all good I went to Sudsville Laundry on Silver Hill Rd where it is clean, inviting, and accepting. Original post: Racist not for black patrons. Closes at 10 I get there at 9 the doors are locked. The workers say they closed at 9. The door says 10 along with the website. Clearly they are still open with Hispanic patrons inside using the facilities.

I'm a regular customer I'm this laundry. Today was doing the laundry. And i was looking to buy an laundry detergent, when I saw an terrible acting of bad behavior to the employees, I'm shocke. How this place accepts this kind of bad behavior between the employees... I saw the supervisor yelling and humility in front of the customer. One of the employee, I believe she is hispanic ,she was sadness. Omg. Her face maybe she was cry a lot. I don't understand why all the employees receive this kind of behavior.

I love coming here. It's clean. The prices are reasonable however this is the first time I've experienced being ignored by the laundry attendant. Not sure if I've seen her before but I'm literally standing at the counter waiting to buy a couple of Laundry bags and dryer sheets and she stares at me from a distance and turns her back from me so she would have to help me. That's super rude and literally I'm standing right here and she refuses to come and help me. That's not good business at all. She is literally wiping a machine and staring at me. She comes down and turns her back to ignore me. I'm sorry for repeating myself I'm just amazed.

It was extremely clean, quiet, and well kept.

I did like this place at first, it's convenient and, clean. I told my mom about this place because of the atmosphere and the service however, my mom informed me she went to this laundromat and they were extremely rude to her. She went late but, was still allowed in to wash her clothes...the employees rushed her and spoke to her atrociously because they were getting ready to close. My mom ended up accidentally leaving some clothes and. The next day she came back to retrieve her paid for belongings and they threw away my mother's clothing. I am now disgusted and in complete disbelief. I request to speak to an supervisor but was hanged up on multiple times. These are people hard earned items. I can't believe this.

My washer broke. This place is great! Super clean, plenty of necessary laundry items, friendly staff & bathroom for customers onsite. Definitely recommend!!!

If youre not latino, you will not be welcomed here. This place is beautiful and very clean, but it's a Latino ran business and they're discriminatory and racist. My sister and i walked in and we were stared down by all the Latinos in the laundromat including the female attendants, as if we didn't belong because we aren't Latino..stay away from here.

I recently move from Virginia 8 months ago and I started using this place is great love the stuff judith one of the girls alway cleaning the machines making sure the look spotless price is not the cheapest but u get what u pay for

This place is very clean! Customer service was good. My clothes were cleaned and dried correctly the first time! I will be back for sure!

If you're not Hispanic they're rude af! Being as though the other laundry place down the street suddenly closed. It stays packed in here. Go elsewhere it gets real annoying in here I promise! Even the customers get rude!

My mother went to go do laundry and had a cart with her basket and soaps in front of the washing machine and the lady told her to take her stuff out and put the cart in the front for “other customers” to use as if she wasn’t a customer??? …

I would have something good to say but how can you when it's 8:00am and the doors still aren't open.

The wash and fold service was great. Very easy to drop off, attendents were very helpful.

Very clean and efficient place. Three stars because they play loud Latino music. Turn the volume down. Geesh!!
