Shrewsbury Laundromat

It’s the year 2025 and there’s a laundromat that still only takes quarters? I have traveled all over the world doing laundry in laundromats in the past 3 years and this was a first! Budapest, Prague, the English countryside, all have laundromats that take credit cards, or at least paper currency! There is a change machine at the Shrewsbury Laundromat that will take your paper money and give you quarters, but it’s finicky! I couldn’t get it to accept a couple of bills, even though they were in pretty good shape. And the sheer amount of quarters you will need is mind boggling! A regular wash load is $6.50 (oversized load is $8.00), and the dryer is a quarter for every 5 minutes.

Ridiculously priced machines with no worker in sight. All of the 'single to double load' machines were"broken' or so the signs said... The ceiling was missing nearly every tile. The exterior was confusing pertaining to a viable every point. Ended up parking on the opposite side of the building, being disabled, and needing to be near the door for easier entry/exit. I had to reload the vehicle and drive around to the other side.... I should've driven away especially after seeing the condition of the interior. The machines barely washed my clothing, having been washed so badly I actually had to bring them elsewhere the following day to rewash nearly all of my whites. What a waste of money. I chose this laundry mat as it was centrally located between my home and the grocery store. Thinking Shrewsbury would be ideal with a minimal threat of theft and quality machines. Knowing the price would likely be a bit higher I went for it. Expecting clean clothes. After seeing the six (yes that's 6) broken machines which wash smaller loads, I should've known the owner was in need of money. Seeing the high cost of machines (nearly a dollar higher than other laundry mats), I was hopeful for an above average wash.. nope!!! The interior was in need of so much repair with two broken bathrooms 6 broken machines and half the ceiling gone, I'm thinking they should probably just close their doors, since even though they're essentially robbing their customers, the money isn't going back into the business. I was sure to take some photos so potential future customers would know what they were getting themselves into.... One more thing, there aren't any bleach/detergent/softener compartments as the machines day. Just 2, so I guess my clothes aren't getting softener unless I sit here and wait to add it between washes.... Which I just added before I left on my way out the door. Doesn't really matter seeing I had to rewash it all anyways... Highly disappointed

A well-maintained laundromat. No service staff currently working, but there were lots of functional machines and the washrooms were open for use. The washers could use a serious clean around the detergent tray, but otherwise the clothes came out well washed. I like that they had the option for a $4 double load machine and the $5.50 triple load machine. Dryer was very efficient, and our clothes came out in good condition, no weird smells or lint.

Its ok, I like the old school quarter machines but the place was infested with ants everywhere.

None of the bathrooms are open, usually that means the management don't want to clean the toilets.

My wife & I Used to be able to do laundry here, however un-American people now monopolize all the machines...consider yourself extremely lucky to at least wash your clothes but as far as drying don't even bother....they'll make sure to monopolize the dryers so you can't use them til near close !!!

No hot water on wash cycle. My clothes came out freezing cold when I paid extra for a hot cycle wash. Bathroom is gross and never any toilet paper. They don't want anyone using the bathroom toilet, so they dont replenish. This establishment has gone down hill and their machines are sub par at this moment and charge you above average to use them.

Despite what the reviews say this place is actually expensive $2.50 for a single load to wash. And $2 to dry?? REALLY?? I left the truck stop for that it's only $2 there to wash and $1.25 to dry. I won't be returning here again. But otherwise the machines are relatively new and in decent condition. One of the customers that was there continued to open my washers WHILE I was standing in front of them and stupidly said that they were sorry they thought they were empty. Then they placed their full laundry carts in the way of the dryers I was using and telling me that they're not done yet you still have time on them. And then they walked away. WHAT?!?!?!

This laundry mat is really busy at times and customers leave their laundry in the machines and don't come back for hours at a time. So inconsiderate to others. Also, the washing machines are always dirty where you put your Iaundry soap, bleach and softener. It's like they are never cleaned/wiped. They are black, suppose to be white. The rubber seal around some of the washing machine windows had green mold on them. The floors aren't very clean either. The bathroom is filthy and there is no toilet paper or paper towels. Not everything is the owner's fault either. It only takes a handful of bad customers to ruin this laundry mat for everyone else. Maybe hiring someone to look after the laundry mat would help? Shame on the bad customers and good luck to the owner. ☹️

No bathroom. No staff. No wifi. 20 bucks spent in one visit. 4 dollars for a simple wash that's supposed to be two loads worth, but barely fits one. Machines dont allow you to choose a heat for your delicates. Barely enough room to move around, constantly moving out of the way for other people to get by. 3 washers "temporarily out of service" show no signs of getting done. On the weekends and some week nights you have to fight for a washer.

Very clean and easy to use washers and dryers. I went on a Saturday morning and it wasn't that busy. Chairs to sit and wait. Carts and tables available to remove from dryers and fold.

It gets the job done with plenty of working washers and dryers and free wi-fi. Some seating if you need to stay for a while. Avoid using the bathroom, or at least bring your own toilet paper.

Very dirty. Interior of machines ok but the handles and exterior machines of washers are a turn off. Heat is super high, too hot and prices are ridiculously high.Ordered new machine and waiting for it.

Why do people do laundry 1 day a month for their entire family and fill every single washer? Then they just leave it sitting in the machine! WHY ARE PEOPLE SO NASTY AND STUPID!

It was fine to me until COV-19 started. I would have gone somewhere else, if I had a choice. I was horrified when I saw how dirty the floors were with dryer sheets all over the floor.

Its ok... Gets the job done but can be busy at times... The dryers ae quite effective and the larger washers are great. The place is a little congested.

Westboro Laundromat is a lifesaver when my washer machine malfunction. I went to Shrewsbury Laundromat. What a shabby place Shrewsbury Laundromat is, still use coins at higher price ?! $5, $6.50, $8 in coins cost more than Westboro Laundromat and use your debit card ! Come here instead of going to Shrewsbury laundromat !

By far, the worst laundromat around.
