Update on August 7, 2025 Finally I was contacted by the business owner who took over the case from the Mequon branch. Still not completely resolved but significant progresses in the resolution hence my assessment from 1 to 3 stars. Perhaps posting my review on Gunderson's main location will give me a better chance at being heard, as nobody cares in Mequon. Since Gunderson Cleaners took over from Martinizing, the quality has been a complete disappointment. Customer service has significantly declined; there is a lack of ownership and responsiveness. I had two consecutive issues with polo shirts shrinking substantially after washing, despite being advised to dry clean them. The local branch manager has been unhelpful, making no effort to resolve these concerns and failing to respond to emails or messages left at the store. I hope this feedback reaches the business owner and is taken seriously. For instance, I sent two identical Lacoste polo shirts for cleaning—one beige (dry cleaned) and one red (washed) — and the washed one shrank considerably without reason. And unfortunately, nobody seems to care.
I manage a local bridal shop, and I’ve brought countless gowns and dresses to Gundersons for last minute emergency cleaning and spot treatment. Their staff and management are always kind, and deliver INCREDIBLY fast service. We’ve never been less than amazed at what they can do with fabric. 15/10 we recommend Gundersons (specifically this Wisconsin Ave location) constantly!
I wear suits a lot for work. Made sure to ONLY bring my suits to Gunderson to get cleaned. Now I'm noticing that all of my suits have burn holes in them from to much heat. I worked in Industrial Laundry for a little bit and know the irons and presses, etc that are used. The fact that Gunderson charges so much yet doesn't notify the customer about damages done to their clothing just baffles me. Wouldn't suggest using this company. Can't begin to tell you frustrated I am. Thousand dollar suits ruined because of to much heat being used within the machines. I'll take my business elsewhere at this point
"I'm extremely frustrated with the service I've received. I initially dropped off my curtains for alterations, and when I called to confirm the size, they couldn't find them. They promised to call me when they were located, but I didn't receive a call. When I arrived to pick them up, they claimed they had already been sent off to be altered. However, suddenly they were able to find them. The lack of communication and inconsistent information has been very disappointing."
Could you delivery my jacket to the drop off laundry service I left it at weeks ago.. if I do not get my jacket I will contact the proper authorities and ask for the full reimbursement I paid for it. Enough is enough.
We have started our experience with a few daunting tasks for them. Let us see how it all goes from here.
Beware of this price-gouging monopoly. I took a pair of sheer curtains to just be pressed to my local Piggly Wiggly because we do not have a separate Gunderson Cleaners. I was told a date 4 days later. They actually came back 10 days later which was no big deal. When I got the bill I was flabbergasted to say the least. The bill came to $70.98!! They deducted $14.20 as a "coupon" which left a balance $59.90! I told the clerks at the Pig that I was upset and couldn't believe how much this cost for 2 sheer curtain panels. They agreed. I was also told by the clerks that they are not allowed to give price quotes. If I would have been quoted a price I would have taken my curtains and purchased my own steam presser. I called Gunderson Cleaners on Wisconsin Ave. in Appleton to talk to the manager. I was given supervisor Hanna's (sp) personal number. I have called her twice and she has not called me back. Needless to say, I will never use Gunderson Cleaners again.
Shocked!!! They dropped off (nice service) 6 shirts today over $75. What!!!! Previously we had a washable rug as I stated. Even told them you can throw it in the washing machine. First time $77 thought that was a little high, second time they were going to charge us $177 for the same rug. Took about a month before I called to cancel. Saw the tag $177. I was in disbelief. Check prices before you use them!!!!
Totally shocked at the $50.00 charge for our cleaning bill when we picked it up today. $9.00 a piece for 4 arm chair covers? Really? The throw rug for $14.00 seemed reasonable. Guess I should have asked ahead of time. We haven't used dry cleaning for awhile & always used Tierney's who have unfortunately closed. I would definately check around before using Gunderson's again. Everthing was suppose to be ready in a week by Mon. When we stopped Tues. the rug wasn't ready. We did finally get it today. When my husband picked it up he was also shocked at the charge, but paid & left. Live & learn.
Gundeson successfully lost my dry cleaning leaving me without dress clothes to attend a friends wedding. Gunderson routinely misplaces customer dry cleaning. Unacceptable.
My items were delayed, which was not convenient. But overall, this was a positive experience with this business.
Love their pickup and drop off service. It helps a ton for a busy mom like myself. All the items come back perfect and the customer service is always great whenever I need to call.
Good local dry cleaning service, have options for pickup and delivery which is quite convenient. Would recommend for those needing regular service, or those who only require drycleaning on one off occasions. Professional and courteous.
They did a nice job on my suit coat for a fair price.
Way too expensive! Had 3 shirts, a tie, and a sweater cleaned and they charged $65! Not worth it
Not helpful, decietful. Won't ever use a Gunderson's.
Haven't heard back re a price check
Great service and fast route delivery.
My pair of jeans was spotless!!
Friendly service and knowledgeable staff
