Another great experience with Trevor over at McMahan Cleaners. I took in another mixed bag of vintage and new Fred Perry polos and dresses. Amazing work just as before. He got out stains that had been set for years!
I normally have great things to say about this place, but every time I have to deal with Trevor he seems to do more negative things than positive. I can only remember one time where it ended up good. He called me to tell me that my sewing project could not be done. That was fine, but I was curious why. I found a time to get there and ask. This was at the end of November that he called. I work two jobs and thought that calling to ask in order to make sure that the tailor understood my request was probably the best move first. It wasn’t my ideal situation, but I called about 3 1/2 weeks later to double check. Except I could never get through because the entire week that I called the phone was disconnected. I finally found time this Saturday afternoon to drop in and ask. I made it a point to ask why the phone was disconnected an entire week and that worried me as that is not a good sign for businesses and only shows that they are short on money. Trevor explained that there was something with the wiring and that they couldn’t even get the water hooked back up. I didn’t quite understand what all of it meant. He showed me why the tailor was unable to complete my project and it did make sense. What was odd was that Trevor didn’t seem to understand why I wanted to be educated enough to take the worries off my plate and to understand. I wanted to try and drop off one more thing. Trevor asked why was I worried when the business had been open since the 1950s? He commented that I shouldn’t of been worried when he called on this item back in November and I was just now picking it up. Correct me if I’m wrong, whilealmost one month is a long period of time, usually customers have longer than that to pick things up. I had left something there more than a month before and there was no problem. He asked me what was wrong? I told him that his statement would not bring back customers and it was a big jerk move. I don’t understand what this guy‘s problem is and I hope he realizes that type ofattitude doesn’t bring people back especially 70 years later. Trevor did not run that shop in the 1950s so he still has to have good customer service skills. I know there is an older gentleman that works there, and hopefully I have the opportunity to express to him why I will not be coming back and I can’t imagine they’re going to keep customers with someone running that shop acting like that. Hopefully Trevor is not the owner. Otherwise I am screwed.
Local, neighborhood dry cleaner with reasonable prices and friendly staff. Been a loyal customer for years, although they recently moved to this new location. I usually drop off a few dress shirts a week, although sometimes I need other items cleaned. And I’ve never had an issue, my items have always been clean and handled with care. And just the other day I needed to use the restroom and the owner was kind enough to let me use the staff bathroom. Much appreciated!
I took a shirt and a pair of shoes here and Trevor Talbott really worked his magic on them. The shirt was tight in the collar and had shrunken down. Trevor not only made it so I could button the top button comfortably but he expertly cleaned it, it fits so much better now. The boots were cleaned and shined and looked brand spanking new. 10-10 would come back and have him work on clothes. Great place to take vintage clothing. Unbeatable service.
Great customer service! Everyone was very friendly and helpful. We dropped off some clothes for a wedding and they were ready very quickly. Great quality of work. 10/10 would recommend
Patronize at your own risk. I have visited this establishment a few times before and had no issues. However, I recently dropped off two shirts for a simple cleaning and only got one back. I had to return multiple times to follow-up on this missing shirt because they wouldn't answer their phone after many calls and voicemails. Each time they said they would look into it and get back to me - via phone, email, claim. etc. and its been weeks and nothing. Tons of other options in the area that are cheaper, offer quality services, and I'm sure a better customer service experience.
I have been a customer of this cleaners for years, primarily due to convenience. It would be a lie to say that the service has always been terrible. They get clothes back in a timely fashion, and their pricing is great. However, I've had a number of issues as well. These issues consist of inaccurately quoting me for an alteration, shrinking a pair of pants that were submitted to be cleaned, and charging for stain removal that was not succesfully removed. The last issue was the final straw. I brought in four hats to be cleaned. When returned to me, all four hats were deformed. Two of them had the plastic clips melted, one of them was shrunk with the panels being deformed. The other one just shrunk. It's still wearable, but is now a different size. I went in to bring this to the attention of the owner. Just claiming that they should inform individuals that this is possible. He claimed I'm the only individual who has ever complained and that I should find a new cleaner. I agree, he is correct. I do need a new cleaner who takes responsibility for their errors/mistakes and attempts to do something to remedy the problem, not push their faithful clients away. Regardless, they've lost a customer due to their behavior and means of handling mistakes made by them.
I specifically wanted to support a local, small business, so I came here totally blind with not a whole lot of expectations for anything in particular. Then, I was blown away!! The costumer service is really excellent, and the owner got my FILTHY but very expensive coat way cleaner than I could have ever hoped!! Thanks, guys!!!
Brought clothes in from the thrift store alongside a favorite item of mine, hoping to get the thrift store smell out, and it is not gone, and has now permeated my other clothes. Disappointing to have left with a favorite item of mine worse than it was before.
Employees and owner are disrespectful and engage in dangerous behavior towards vulnerable members of the community (children) in their reckless driving and negligent upkeep of the property. To the inevitable someone who gets hurt on the property, know that this business was warned about the driving issues and broken glass. Do better at being a decent part of the community!
