Sussex Cleaners

Recently these people charged me $42 for 1 shirt, 1 sweatshirt and 1 shorts. I used to have my garments cleaned at Sussex Cleaners in Newton. Once they closed, they recommended this place. This is only my second visit here and possibly third one to pick up the clothes I dropped off on my second visit. When I picked up the 3 garments during my second visit, I questioned them about $42 charge. The man fumbled for a bit, looked at the lady standing behind another counter, and begrudgingly admitted that the charges were wrong. And then he proceeded to smirk and offer $10 towards the next boss, saying “Oh this may help you little bit”. Excuse me! I am not asking for any help . Even with $10 credit, these guys charged me 3 times of what it would normally cost to clean 1 shirt, 1 sweatshirt and 1 shorts. Unbelievably frustrating and tad bit embarrassing to have used them in the first place.

Used to be great, they were so professional and kind, it seems like there’s new owners. I had my favorite winter comforter in storage there. I went, with my ticket, to pick it up after a long time. The past year and a half have been unusual to say the least. They laughed and said, it’s not here, you must have picked it up. I asked them to check again and they blew me off. I’d love to know what they did with my comforter.

So I've only used this place twice. Yesterday I dropped 5 suits and 2 shirt, one with a bad stain around 8am for my wedding the next day. Everything was done by 11am. They did a nice job and very fast! Other places in town couldn't do the 24hr turn around.

Sussex cleaners SAVED THE DAY. I was in from out of town for a wedding when my dress zipper broke 5 minutes before it started. We walked in and the owner so graciously helped us out with my broken zipper, getting me to the wedding. Highly recommend- the best customer service and kind people!!!

Recently used them for several of my husband's dress shirts. After picking up the items and getting them home my husband noticed at least half the shirts were covered in lint and were extremely wrinkled (they had hung in the car for a 10 minute drive before getting hung up in his closet still in the bags). I shouldn't be fully ironing shirts that I just paid to be cleaned and pressed.

I have used Sussex Cleaners for years and have always been extremely pleased with their work. I highly recommend them.

The owner Sam was very courteous and friendly. Great service.

It's ok. But the lady has the personality of a snail!
